another back logged update
been adding slopes into my terrain for the village to add more depth to it
been having to readjust the placement of some of the buildings
adjusted the path of the track to add more straights for the players as the hills made it more difficult to go around corners in the original path.
added ma buildings!!!! and added rich's model for scale, looking ok :)
fences!!! and their collision
- my original attempt to make a bridge was awful. i tried making it from one big mesh and extuded out the sides but this just lead to too many issues
- i then created the bridge and buplicated it and scaled it down to create the sides to it. this way the shame stayed the same and kept to the curve of it
- i added the collsion for the sides and then the bridge and combined the meshes and the collsions. like i have with every other model ive made
- when adding it to UDK the collsion on the bridge was fine and the collsion on the sides didnt work!!!
- WHHHYYYYY!???!!!!???
- i made sure the collisons wernt overlaping at all and exported the sides seperat and the collision was fine O_o
- so i re-combine it all (the two meshes together and the two collsions together) and it messed up still!!!
- so i've resulted to having to export the sides seperate ant the bridge sperate and put them together in UDK :/
teh final bridge shape
- when a applied my materials (btw they are just practice unwraps - thus the pink) to the two meshes they didnt work even though they were fine in maya.
- when i exported my brisge it didnt have any kind or unwrap on it so i tried re-exporting it and it worked fine *PHEW*
hay bails...i tried to put more effort into these than i should of. i was being too fussy with the shape and it took me a lot longer than it shoud have :( i ended up using the green selected one as it was more simple and looked simpler than the others.
O_o still not sure if im happy with them
i made it larger across to stands and you can see it better from a distance

the original barrel i made. i was a bit of an idiot and didn't add subdivisons the the heigh meaning when i added the horizontal edges they were all different sizes.
this made unwrapping a bitch!!!!
in the end i raged and just overlapped all the uvs...which obviously messed up the alignment of the texture
i then re-modeled the barrel with subdivisons all equally spread out meaning the UVs were all the same size and easier to align HAZZAR!!
woop!
